In this collection of letters between a senior demon (Screwtape) and his young inexperienced nephew Wormwood, Screwtape critiques, instructs, and advises his young apprentice regarding the best ways to deceive humans (who are referred to as patients), keeping them from encountering God, love, life, and obedience in service within God's kingdom.
